The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has expressed his joy and solidarity with Organized Labour in Nigeria during the 2024 Workers’ Day Celebration.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, he specifically congratulated the workers in Delta State on this year’s May 1st event, themed “People First”.
As the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of States Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, Rt Hon Guwor praised Delta State Workers for their dedication and resilience in advancing the state’s fortunes.
He emphasized that the Labour Unions and their Members have been valuable partners in governance and the state’s development. Rt Hon Guwor urged workers to maintain their focus and faith in the present administration in the state led by Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, which is committed to growing all sectors of the state’s economy, including those that promote worker welfare.
He also reassured that the Delta State House of Assembly will continue to enact legislation that encourages peace and progress in the state.
“I commend Delta Workers for their unwavering dedication to the State’s progress and prosperity.
“I cannot but appreciate them for their commitment and steadfastness to government’s drive for a greater state.
“As we celebrate with the Workers today, I seek from them continued genuine support to the state government.
“I enjoined them to keep on with the productive spirits for the growth of the state” Guwor stated.
