TCN Announces Two-Week Power Outage In Delta, Edo

The disruption will commence on May 4 and conclude on May 17, affecting various communities in Edo State and Delta with a blackout.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled two-week power interruption at its Amukpe substation, according to a press release by TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, issued on Saturday.

The disruption will commence on May 4 and conclude on May 17, affecting various communities in Edo State and Delta with a blackout.

TCN states that the outage is necessary to facilitate the safe installation of two 132KV transmission towers at the substation by contractors. Furthermore, TCN informs that during this period, Benin DisCo will not receive bulk power supply through the Adeje industrial, woodland, Mosogar, Sapele, and Abraka feeders.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), hereby states that it will commence the erection of two number 132kV transmission towers at its Amukpe Transmission Substation.

”And will equally restring a portion of the Benin-Delta and Delta-Oghara 132kV double circuit transmission lines from Saturday, May 4 to May 17, 2024.

“Consequently, Amukpe Substation will be out of power for the duration of the work.”
