The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has set the stage for its Local Government Council General Election with a detailed timetable released by the State Chairman, Olorogun Barr Kingsley Esiso PhD.
The schedule, announced during a press briefing on Wednesday, 8th May 2024, outlines crucial dates for aspirants and stakeholders to mark.
The timetable kicks off with the sale of forms to aspirants from Friday, 10th May to Wednesday, 15th May, 2024. This is followed by the submission of completed forms scheduled for Thursday, 16th May to Saturday, 18th May, 2024.
Aspirants will then face the screening process from Saturday, 19th May to Monday, 20th May, 2024, with appeals arising from the screening slated for Tuesday, 21st May, 2024.
The electoral process continues with the Ward Congress to elect Councillorship candidates and three ad-hoc delegates on Friday, 24th May, 2024. Any appeals from this process will be addressed on Saturday, 25th May, 2024.
The climax of the primaries will be the Party Primaries for Chairmen scheduled for Saturday, 26th May, 2024. In the event of a run-off, it will take place on Sunday, 26th May, 2024, alongside the consideration of appeals arising from the Chairmanship primaries.
Esiso encourages all aspirants, party members, and stakeholders to adhere strictly to the timetable as it sets the stage for a transparent and democratic process leading to the Local Government Council General Election on 13th July 2024.
