Veteran Actress, Liz Benson Returns To Nollywood

Renowned actress Liz Benson has made a comeback to Nollywood following a hiatus from acting. She is reprising her passion for the craft by starring in the upcoming film “A Mother’s Son,” produced by Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed.

Mercy Johnson shared the news in a behind-the-scenes video on her Instagram, where the cast warmly welcomed the veteran actress.

Alongside Liz Benson, the movie boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Mike Godson, Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, and George Inaibeh, among others.

Liz Benson, who was surprised at the warm welcome by her colleagues, said, “’All the big people in Nollywood are here.

“You guys are doing exploits; God bless you. It’s nice to see all of you in real life.

“I am meeting all of you for the first time. But I have come to see my daughter (Mercy Johnson).”

Liz Benson hails from Etinan, Akwa Ibom, in southern Nigeria. Her journey in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of five when she debuted as a child actress in 1971. However, it was her portrayal of Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the television soap opera “Fortunes” on NTA in 1993 that catapulted her to fame. Throughout the 1990s, Benson solidified her status as a household name in Nollywood, starring in several iconic films and earning widespread recognition.
