The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), part of the Organised Labour, have once again declined the Federal Government’s latest offer of a ₦57,000 minimum wage.
This marks the third proposal in approximately a week, with negotiations resuming on Wednesday.
Despite their initial demand of ₦615,000, the NLC and TUC adjusted their request to ₦497,000. Conversely, the government and the Organised Private Sector proposed ₦57,000, up from ₦54,000, which was rejected on Tuesday.
Initially, the government proposed ₦48,000, which was also turned down by the Organised Labour. The negotiations, scheduled to conclude by May 31, are yet to reach an agreement.
