Organised Labour has suspended the nationwide strike for five days to allow uninterrupted meetings with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.
This was confirmed by TUC chairman, Festus Osifo on Tuesday.
Waffi TV previously reported that Labour leaders had a successful meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, and other government officials on Monday. They reached a resolution that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to a new minimum wage higher than N60,000.
They also agreed that the Tripartite Committee would meet daily for the next week to reach an agreeable National Minimum Wage.
During a meeting with the FG Tripartite Committee scheduled for 10am today, Labour suspended its strike.
As a result, all government and private offices are expected to reopen and function as usual.
