Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, emphasized the need for Nigeria to bounce back and begin winning matches.
Following a surprising 2-1 defeat to the Republic of Benin in a 2026 World Cup qualifier held in Abidjan last night, the coach urged his players to show more commitment.
Finidi George said: “We will see when the new season begins how we can get the best out of the players.
“They have to show more commitment for us to start winning games. When we start winning, the fight is still on.”
Sounding defiant in the face of what appears like an uphill task for Nigeria to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, Finidi said, “We can’t throw in the towel because we have three points from four matches.
“We will have to win games, if we win games, the battle will still be there.
“We have to find a way to get these players back in a way they can perform.”
