Delta Police Arrest Two Suspected Armed Robbers, Two Buyers Of Stolen Properties

The suspects are members of a six-man group that targets churches, companies, and warehouses, armed with guns.

The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Aliyu Shaba, apprehended two suspected armed robbers, Okoro Udochukwu (36) and Sunday Dickson (32), believed to be part of a gang terrorizing Warri, Sapele, Oghara, and other areas of Delta State.

The suspects are members of a six-man group that targets churches, companies, and warehouses, armed with guns.

They were arrested at a hotel near Aziza Junction along Sapele Road on June 24, 2024, around 6:30 PM.

During the raid, police also detained two individuals accused of receiving and purchasing stolen goods from the gang.

The arrested buyers are Arinze Ezisi (44) and Titus Chinedu (47) from Okumagba.

Stolen items were recovered from the suspects.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed this in a statement provided to our correspondent in Warri.

The police spokesperson said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that on the 26th of May 2024, they allegedly robbed a warehouse in Warri and stole one hundred and twelve bags of rice and have sold some of them.”

According to SP Edafe, “The suspects led the police to the arrest of Arinze Ezisi (male, 44 years old) of Okumagba community and Titus Chinedu (male, 47 years old) of Okumagba community, who were the receivers of all the stolen properties.

“A diligent search was conducted at their stores/houses, which led to the recovery of thirty-eight bags of rice, one silver crest blender, one inverter engine with two inverter batteries, three Sharp photocopying machines, two Sharp standing AC units, five LG home theaters, one Hisense air conditioner, three intercom machines, one 50-inch black LG television, two shovels, one black Hisense speaker, eight yards of armored cable, six generators, five stabilizers, three Kenstar A/C units, two Hisense standing AC units, three Hisense inverter AC units, one peculiar professional mixer, three Kenstar standing AC units, one Panasonic AC, 

one pumping machine, five sound Prinex units, one Yamaha piano, five gas cylinders, twenty-one amplifiers, four guitars, four LG speakers, five microwaves, two MP3 players, one OX standing fan, three cushion chairs, one large Vitafoam mattress, and a large quantity of copper.”

SP Edafe added that, “They carry out these operations using two Sienna vehicles and one shuttle bus, which they use to transport the stolen items.”

He said, “Efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang and recover their operational vehicles.”
