PAP Administrator Praises President Tinubu as Youth-Friendly Leader

Port Harcourt, Rivers State – Dr. Dennis Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has commended President Bola Tinubu for his youth-friendly approach, describing him as a leader dedicated to the welfare of young people and the development of the Niger Delta region.

Dr. Otuaro made these remarks during the NDDC Executive Management Engagement with Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders and Selected Stakeholders, themed “Let Us Build Together,” held in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

In a statement released by Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, Otuaro urged the people of the Niger Delta to support President Tinubu’s administration. He highlighted the president’s favorable stance towards the youth and his love for the region as key reasons for his appointments, including Dr. Otuaro as PAP Administrator and Samuel Ogbuku as Managing Director of the NDDC.

Dr. Otuaro called for patience as President Tinubu implements his Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to revamp Nigeria’s economy and expedite development in the Niger Delta. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security in the region and advised youths to avoid participating in the proposed national protests on August 1.

“The government of President Bola Tinubu is a youth-friendly government, and he truly loves the Niger Delta. I was at the NDDC before he appointed me to head the Presidential Amnesty Programme Office, and Samuel Ogbuku is the Managing Director of the NDDC. Therefore, it is time for us to own the administration of Tinubu,” said Otuaro.

Highlighting the support from President Tinubu, Dr. Otuaro revealed that the PAP had designed a scheme to empower over 1,000 youths this year. He also mentioned plans to expand the PAP scholarship program to benefit 500 Niger Delta students studying in universities.

Dr. Otuaro emphasized the importance of women in PAP’s stakeholders’ policy, announcing plans to hold a women’s summit to address issues specific to the female population of the region. He affirmed PAP’s commitment to partnering with the NDDC to achieve common goals.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, PANDEF National Chairman Emmanuel Ibok Essien, Ijaw National Congress President Prof. Benjamin Okaba, Ijaw Youth Council President Jonathan Lokpobiri, Niger Delta female activist AnnKio Briggs, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, and the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom Ayiri Emami.

Dr. Otuaro concluded his remarks by encouraging the Niger Delta communities to be patient and supportive of President Tinubu’s reforms, emphasising that unity and cooperation are essential for the region’s progress.
