The National Association of Presidential Amnesty Graduates (NAPAG) has lauded the innovative leadership of Dr. Dennis Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
In a statement released on Tuesday by its National Coordinator, Somina Morrison Igani, NAPAG praised Otuaro for his forward-thinking approach to leadership.
The group also commended the improvements made under the Amnesty’s oversight of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
Igani highlighted that Otuaro’s innovative leadership has significantly impacted all aspects of the programme, particularly in his efforts to close the human capital development gap in the Niger Delta.
He noted that the PAP Administrator’s unwavering commitment has led to notable progress in various areas of the programme.
These include increased academic opportunities through scholarships, the timely payment of monthly stipends to PAP delegates, and a revitalized vocational skills acquisition program that provides beneficiaries with high-quality training in various trades.
“Under his (Otuaro’s) leadership, there has been a significant increase in support for academic pursuits, enabling many ex-agitators to pursue higher education and professional training.
“This special attention to academics has not only empowered individuals but also contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of the Niger Delta region and beyond.
“The prompt disbursement of allowances under Dr Otuaro’s leadership has been instrumental in the sustenance of the livelihoods of many former agitators,” Igani said.
He emphasized that the timely payment of monthly allowances to ex-agitators has been vital for maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region, significantly supporting the reintegration process.
He also highlighted the PAP leader’s exceptional commitment to advancing the academic progress of NAPAG members, noting that they are proud to align themselves with Otuaro’s leadership.
Igani said, “His administration has significantly expanded educational opportunities, ensuring that we are better equipped to contribute to the nation’s growth.”
The Presidential Amnesty graduates also praised the PAP Administrator for strategically appointing capable aides, which has enhanced the program’s effectiveness.
As a result, they passed a vote of confidence in Otuaro, encouraging him to continue the positive impact of his innovative administration on the people and communities of the Niger Delta.
