PAP Administrator Urges Nigerian Students To Champion National Development, Unity

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has called on Nigerian students to consistently exhibit patriotism and a strong commitment to the nation’s development and unity.

Dr. Otuaro delivered this message during the inaugural National Tech Summit, themed “Empowering Nigerian Students Through Tech,” held in Abuja on Tuesday. He emphasized that the future of Nigeria rests in the hands of its youth.

The summit, organized by the leaderships of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), the National Association of Polytechnics Students (NAPS), and the National Association of Colleges of Education Students (NACES), was sponsored by the Nigeria Customs Service.

In a press release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, on Wednesday, it was announced that Dr. Otuaro was honored with the ‘Icon of Community Development’ award by the students at the event.

The Amnesty Programme Administrator encouraged students nationwide to understand that their dedication and hard work are essential to building a secure, prosperous, peaceful, and technologically advanced nation. Represented by his Special Assistant on Special Duties, Dinyain Tuebi, Dr. Otuaro noted that education and technological empowerment are crucial pillars for national growth and development.

He urged the students to take leadership seriously and embody the values of integrity, service, and excellence, contributing meaningfully to nation-building. Dr. Otuaro reminded them that they are the foundation upon which Nigeria’s future is built and must be aware of their critical role in the nation’s existence.

He praised the leaderships of NAUS, NAPS, and NACES for organizing the summit, stating that the initiative reflects their shared vision of leveraging technology to advance their education and future careers.

Dr. Otuaro expressed his gratitude to the student bodies for the award, which he dedicated to President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders who have worked tirelessly to foster peace, stability, and development in Nigeria.

He said, “This summit embodies the spirit of resilience, creativity and determination that is synonymous with the Nigerian student. As you embark on this journey of exploration and learning, today, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your studies, patriotic in actions, and committed to the growth and unity of Nigeria.

“The future of our nation lies in your hands, and it is through your dedication and hard work that we will continue to build a prosperous, peaceful and technologically advanced Nigeria.”

The President of NAUS, Marshal Obaji, noted that the summit aimed to address the technological skills gap among Nigerian students and graduates while providing mentorship opportunities in emerging tech fields, innovation, and networking.
