Edo Guber Poll Is A Do-Or-Die Affair- Obaseki

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, cautioned on Saturday that the upcoming governorship election in the state is a “do-or-die” situation.

He warned that any electoral malpractice by the opposition could result in fatal consequences. Obaseki made this statement during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally in the Ekemwan area of the state.

“The person I took over from had no respect for our people, had no respect for women, encouraged prostitution and women trafficking.

“When I took over office our pensioners wore black on Labour Day buy today they wear white.

“When I took office, our youths had no jobs, but today don’t they have jobs? After eight years is Edo not one of the safest in Nigeria?

“This election is a do or die, if they do, we will die. Next week Saturday by this time, vote for PDP to become the next governor.”

On Saturday, September 21, the people of Edo State will head to the polls to elect their next governor. The leading contenders are Asue Ighodalo of the PDP, Monday Okpebholo of the APC, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP).
