EDO POLL: Ighodalo, Akpata, Okpebholo Compete To Succeed Obaseki

After months of intense campaigning and political maneuvering, voters in Edo State are ready to head to the polls for the governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cleared 17 parties to participate in the September 21st election, where candidates will vie to succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki, whose term ends in November.

The key contenders include Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP).

The election will take place in 4,519 polling units across the state’s 18 local government areas.
