On Friday, the Naira appreciated to N1,640 per dollar in the parallel market, up from N1,650 per dollar on Thursday.
Similarly, in the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), the Naira strengthened to N1,541.52 per dollar. Data from FMDQ revealed that the indicative exchange rate for NAFEM dropped to N1,541.52 per dollar from N1,544.02 per dollar the previous day, showing a N2.5 gain for the Naira.
The turnover of dollars traded in the official market surged by 117.7%, reaching $190.57 million compared to $87.51 million on Thursday.
As a result, the gap between the parallel market and NAFEM rates narrowed to N98.48 per dollar from N105.98 per dollar on Thursday.
