TCN Set To Build 132/33 KV Sub-Station In Bomadi

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) plans to construct a 132/33 KV Transmission Station in Kpakiama, located in the Bomadi local government area of Delta State. This initiative aims to resolve ongoing electricity supply issues in Bomadi and its neighboring regions.

Spearheaded by Hon. Rawlings Dagidi Andaye, the executive chairman of the council, the project will not only benefit Bomadi but also extend to communities along the Atlantic fringe.

A recent visit from a TCN delegation from Abuja confirmed the site’s suitability and secured 300 feet by 300 feet of land at Amalasama. Engr. Chukwuemeka Kenneth, General Manager of TCN’s Delta Sub-region, expressed appreciation for the host community’s support and cooperation.

The project is set to deliver multiple advantages, including:

  • Steady Power Supply: Replacement of the existing line from Ughelli, leading to reduced transmission losses and improved voltage stability.
  • Higher Transmission Voltage: The 132 KV transmission voltage will enhance power distribution efficiency.
  • Employment Opportunities: The initiative will create job prospects for local youth.
  • Economic Growth: Reliable electricity is expected to stimulate local economic activities.

Hon. Andaye highlighted that resolving electricity issues is his top priority and assured that solutions would be implemented within a few months.

The local community, represented by Mr. Ebiegberi Abamoh, welcomed this development and committed to supporting the project’s success. This initiative builds on Hon. Andaye’s earlier collaboration with Tempo Energy Nigeria Ltd to install a turbine in Bomadi, which is still pending state government documentation. The TCN project is regarded as more economically feasible and is anticipated to significantly enhance the region’s electricity supply.
