A father, Samson, from Evwreni Community in Delta State, was beaten to death and his corpse set on fire by an angry mob after he killed his son, murdered a nursing mother, and injured another person under mysterious circumstances.
Samson, whose full name was unknown at the time of reporting, committed these tragic acts in the early hours of yesterday. According to a source, around 2 a.m., Samson fatally attacked his son, and while others were consoling the family, he killed a nursing mother named Princess and injured an unidentified man.
An anonymous source added that Samson had been displaying erratic behavior and was due to be taken to a medical facility for treatment before the incident occurred.
According to him, “He smashed his toddler son, then machete a woman who took her son out to toilet to death, and injured the youths in process of trying to apprehend him, he injured more persons.
“After the incident, he was finally apprehended, beaten to a stupor and his remains were set ablaze with his motorcycle.”
Though the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright could not respond to his call at press time, but a senior security source, who confirmed the incident, said: “Before our men could get to the scene, the suspect has been set ablaze.”
