CNG-Powered Vehicle Explodes In Edo, Injures Many

Panic erupted Thursday morning in Benin, Edo State, when a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle exploded at the NIPCO filling station along the Benin-Auchi Expressway.

In a circulating video, the vehicle was severely damaged, and people were seen fleeing as the loud explosion sent shockwaves through the area.

Three individuals sustained injuries and were rushed to a private hospital for treatment. The incident raises safety concerns about the Federal Government’s push for converting petrol-powered vehicles to CNG to reduce transportation costs following the removal of fuel subsidies.
