The Delta State Police Command has apprehended over 12 suspected armed robbers as they prepared to execute their criminal plans.
In a Friday post on X.com, the command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, revealed that officers intercepted the suspects while they were planning their next robbery.
He wrote, “While they were preparing for another operation, we swooped in on them, arrested over twelve of the suspected armed robbers, and recovered an English pistol, one long double barrel gun, a locally made cut-to-size gun, and over seven cutlasses.”
In an accompanying video, two of the suspects admitted to scaling fences to access their victims’ homes. They also revealed that some of their past operations succeeded because victims neglected to lock their doors at night.
SP Bright Edafe advised residents to adopt basic security measures, including ensuring their doors are locked.
“Please always lock your door, especially at night!” He emphasised.
