The naira gained value against the dollar in the foreign exchange market as trading resumed after the Christmas break.
According to FMDQ data, the naira strengthened to N1,534 per dollar on Friday, up from N1,540.45 on Tuesday, reflecting a gain of N6.45.
Meanwhile, in the black market, the naira closed at N1,650 per dollar on Friday, compared to the N1,638–N1,650 range recorded on Tuesday. This trend highlights ongoing fluctuations in Nigeria’s currency within the FX market in recent days.
