The Federal Ministry of Education has postponed the resumption date for 112 Federal Unity Colleges nationwide.
Initially set for January 5, the new resumption date is now January 12, 2025, as stated in a circular dated December 30, with reference number SAF/27/DSSE/US/GM/C.I/1/2.
Titled “Extension of Resumption Date of 112 Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs)” and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, the circular attributes the delay to ongoing renovation work in many of the colleges.
The circular partly read: “I write to inform you that the Honourable Minister of State for Education has approved the extension of the resumption date for the 2nd term of 2024/2025 Academic Session of FUCs from 5th January, 2025 to Sunday, 12th January, 2025.
“The extension is due to the ongoing renovation works in most of the FUCS.”
