Nigeria’s national power grid has experienced its first major collapse of 2025, barely ten days into the new year, plunging the nation into a widespread blackout.
This marks the 13th grid failure in the past 13 months.
Reports indicate that power generation fell sharply from 2,111.01 megawatts at 2 pm to 390.20 MW by 3 pm. The Energy Podcast confirmed the incident, stating, “National grid suffers major collapse… First in 2025.”
