The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has urged Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections, citing the government’s failure to tackle insecurity effectively.
The CUPP specifically criticized the Federal Government for its perceived inability to address the country’s growing security challenges, which it described as alarming for both citizens and investors.
Spokesperson Mark Adebayo condemned the recent massacre of 40 farmers in Borno State by ISWAP on January 12, calling it a tragic example of the government’s failure to protect its people.
Highlighting the rising insecurity across Nigeria, the CUPP noted the loss of thousands of lives and the displacement of millions due to terrorism and kidnappings. Despite significant counter-terrorism investments, the coalition accused the APC of neglecting its duty to safeguard the nation.
The CUPP called for a complete overhaul of Nigeria’s security framework and advocated for a government capable of combating insecurity effectively.
Expressing sympathy for the victims’ families, the coalition urged swift and decisive actions to restore peace while warning of grave consequences if the APC remained in power beyond 2027.
