Naira Depreciates To N1,660/$ In Parallel Market

The Naira weakened in the parallel market yesterday, slipping to N1,660 per dollar from Monday’s N1,655 per dollar.

However, it strengthened in the official foreign exchange market, appreciating to N1,549 per dollar.

According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate improved slightly to N1,549 per dollar, up from N1,550 on Monday, marking a N1 gain.

As a result, the gap between the parallel market and NFEM rates widened to N111 per dollar, compared to N105 per dollar on Monday.
