Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, currently playing for Galatasaray, is at the center of controversy following an alleged clash with a journalist.
According to Turkish media outlet Posta, the prolific forward reportedly assaulted a journalist outside an entertainment venue he visited with friends in Turkey. The incident allegedly escalated when Osimhen, irritated by the journalist’s presence, reacted aggressively. Tolga Bozduman, the journalist involved, shared details of the confrontation.
“I was filming Osimhen as he exited, accompanied by three colleagues. When the camera flashes stopped, he became furious. He rushed towards me, shouting, and attempted to grab my camera. When I refused to let go, he punched me. It still hurts. Then he started swearing and said, ‘Destroy the photos, I’ll give you money.’ I refused, and he threatened me, saying, ‘I’ll destroy you.’
Both Galatasaray and Osimhen have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
Osimhen has been in outstanding form for Galatasaray, tallying 15 goals and six assists so far this season for the Turkish club.
