Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed his commitment to taking bold and decisive steps to tackle challenges and drive progress in the state and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to DAILY POST, Governor Fubara’s statement comes amid his ongoing feud with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Fubara made the remarks during a condolence visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Government House on Saturday evening, following the passing of Mohammed’s stepmother, Hauwa Duguri, earlier this year. He acknowledged that while the visit was slightly delayed, their strong relationship and shared dedication to addressing key issues remained paramount.
“I know this visit is a bit late, but the most important thing is that we are here. We are here to comfort the Bauchi governor on the loss of his mother,” he said.
Addressing Governor Mohammed, Fubara acknowledged the challenges of leadership and stressed the importance of stepping up when necessary.
“I know it’s not an easy task, and I know names will be called, but it gets to a time when you must come out strongly and take a position so that things will be done rightly,” he said.
The Rivers governor emphasised the significance of his visit, stating that it went beyond a mere condolence gesture.
“What I’m doing now is to show everyone that we have a good relationship and that we are in this together to ensure we set things right,” he stated.
Governor Fubara also assured that his collaboration with Governor Mohammed would not end with this visit, pledging continuous partnership for the unity and growth of both states.
“I can assure you that this is not the end of our visit. We will continue to work together for the unity and growth of both states,” he added.
