Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr has reportedly opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Nigerian striker Victor Boniface as a replacement for Anderson Talisca, who is expected to join Fenerbahce.
Seeking to strengthen their attack, which already includes Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, Al Nassr is pushing to secure the 24-year-old Super Eagles forward. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Monday via his X account that Al Nassr has officially begun discussions, aiming to outpace interest from Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
“Understand Al Nassr have started official talks for Victor Boniface as a new striker! Negotiations on with Bayer Leverkusen for the Nigerian striker to replace Talisca. The other candidate is Jhon Durán… but Aston Villa still insist on keeping him at the club,” Romano wrote.
Boniface recently extended his contract with the Bundesliga side until 2026, making him one of their highest earners.
However, Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly open to selling the Super Eagles forward for a fee of at least €50 million.
Named Bundesliga Rookie of the Season for 2023/24, Boniface enjoyed an exceptional debut campaign, helping Xabi Alonso’s side to a German league and cup double without a single loss, scoring 21 goals.
This season, despite being hampered by injuries, he has already netted six Bundesliga goals.
