DELTA State House of Assembly has approved the request by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to build a N5 billion film village and leisure park.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the film village and leisure park will be built at Ugbolu, Oshimili North Local Government.
The Assembly resumed from its four-week break yesterday. The governor’s request was read during plenary by the Speaker, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Okowa said the project would boost the state’s revenue base and create jobs for youths.
He said the government would provide 30 per cent of the fund while investors would provide 70 per cent.
Majority Leader Tim Owhefere moved a motion for the House to adopt the letter. It was seconded by Peter Uvieijitobor (Udu Constituency). The request was unanimously adopted by lawmakers by voice vote.
