The anti-corruption network, a civil society organization, has urged the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC to investigate the fraud allegations made by Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello and his associates against them. On February 26,
The OSC submitted a petition to Governor Bello and some individuals regarding a large-scale financial fraud that allegedly occurred in the state between 2016 and 2019. However, in a statement released on Thursday, the organization accused the EFCC of failing to take action and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
He also threatened that if the EFCC did not take the necessary action within the specified time, it would take legal action against the governor. This is not a promise made by EFFC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa to Nigerians when he took office. We hope that you will not confirm the rumors that EFCC is just a bulldog without teeth.
We urge you to further investigate this matter through mediation and immediately bring the perpetrators to justice in order to restore the image and trust of millions of Nigerians.
However, we would like to inform you that if we do not receive a positive response from the committee, we will resort to all available legal means, the statement said.
