Ex-Eagles Star Ojigwe Appointed Abia Sports Commissioner

Former Super Eagles midfielder Karibe Ojigwe has been sworn in as Commissioner for Sports in Abia State.

Ojigwe, a member of the Golden Eaglets that won the 1993 U-17 World Cup in Japan, replaces Emeka Ikwuagwu.

The 44-year-old was sworn in on Tuesday at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia by Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, alongside 26 others to serve in the State Executive Council.

Ojigwe played 17 times for Nigeria, scoring two goals.

He spent most of his playing career in Germany, playing for FC Koln, Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen, 1860 Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach.
