Gunmen suspected to be gang members of the late notorious criminal, Terwase Akwaza, popularly known as Gana, have attacked a community in Taraba State.

This was observed by WAFFITV REPORTER, following an attack recently launched on Rafinkada community in Wukari council of the state.

The attack, which occurred early this week, did not only lead to the death of one person on his farm, but also heightened tension in the area, especially the southern part of the state at large.

Confirming the attack, Wukari council chairman, Adi Daniel, who said he received a distress call at about 10:00 am from the community, narrated how he immediately mobilized security agencies to the scene.

Sad noted that before arriving at the community, the hoodlums had fled the scene.

He identified the victim as Tsunatu Danjuma and assured the people that the leadership of the council will make sure the attackers are brought to book.

He urged fleeing residents of the community to return as relevant security apparatus, according to him, have been put in place to prevent further attacks.

He admitted that the militiamen are suspected to be the “remnants of Gana boys, who launched the attacks and retreated to surrounding forests.

Some members of the community told WAFFITV that the gunmen are the gang members of Gana who before he was killed last year by security operatives in Benue State.

When contacted for comment, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Usman, denied knowledge of the incident, stating that the report is yet to be brought to his knowledge.
