The Lagos State public and private secondary schools would resume the second term year of the 2020/2021 academic session tomorrow Monday, 6, 2020, with public primary and pre-primary schools resuming January 20.
The Lagos State government approved the adjustment to the public primary schools resumption date from the initial date of January 6, in a bid to implement extensive retraining of teachers and prepare them for the 2020 session.
The office of the acting director, School Support Services, Mrs. M. A. Folami, had signed a statement through the executive chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), where she explained that the public pre-primary and primary school head teachers and teachers were attending an EkoExcel Pre-service Professional Development and Technology Training Programme which started December, 2019 to January, 2020.
The Lagos State ministry of information and strategy however noted that the curriculum of Lagos State private and public schools would not be affected in any way by these changes and Lagos State would continue to implement her existing curriculum across the state.
All public and private schools, school leaders and school associations have been urged to adhere strictly to the notice as defaulters would be sanctioned by the state government on any school who fails to comply.
