Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has commiserated with his Sokoto State counterpart, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, over Tuesday’s heartbreaking incident where a bus from Sabon Birni village in the state was intercepted and set ablaze by suspected bandits.
In a press statement signed and issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Zailani Bappa, the demise of 42 persons was not only dastardly but a glaring sign of the desperate attempt by the bandits to further instil fear and apprehension across the North-West zone.
Governor Matawalle, who is currently on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said he was shaken and momentarily dumbfounded by the news of the ugly development.
“We in Zamfara State are familiar with many of their antics which is seemingly assuming different dimensions. We share at this moment our deep sympathy to those who lost their dear ones and pray that God Almighty will accept the martyrdom of the deceased”, the statement read.
