WaffiTV:The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on Tuesday in Abuja said that his tenure will finish in June, 2019.
Emefiele who expressed this while reacting to questions encompassing his ‘sack’ from office, said “in any event you can see me, I am doing my work, my tenure lapses in June and at any rate we should proceed.”
He noticed that regardless of whether he leaves toward the finish of his first tenure “the intercession projects of the CBN has been on since 1978 and it has moved starting with one governor then onto the next I am hopeful that regardless of whether another governor comes, no correct reasoning individual will relinquish an activity that is praiseworthy and that is intended to make employments for the benefit of our nation.”
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Tuesday rejected claims that the CBN governor has been sacked.
Reacting to request from The Nation Tuesday, the Director Corporate Communications of the CBN Mr. Isaac Okorafor disclosed to The Nation that “the governor is in his office working.”
Another authority of the CBN additionally disclosed to The Nation Correspondent that “there is in no way like that, the governor is here, his tenure lapses in June.”
An online media had written about Monday evening that the CBN governor has been sacked by the administration and given two weeks to clear his table and “handover to an anonymous successor.”
Leader of National Cotton Association of Nigeria Mr. Anibe Achimugu at the material partners meeting in Abuja told the CBN governor that “we give God the greatness that you are staying here today. You have progressed nicely; we are supplicating that even with our own intercession, that you will complete significantly more by the finesse of God.”
