The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has unveiled plans for a three-day fasting and prayer programme, seeking divine intervention to bolster Nigeria’s agricultural sector and ensure food security.
According to an internal memo dated June 11 and obtained by TheCable, Adedayo Modupe, Director of Human Resource Management, said the initiative is aimed at invoking God’s guidance and protection for the nation’s food systems.
“All staff of the ministry are expected to observe the fast and attend the scheduled prayer sessions,” the memo read.
Tagged “Divine Intervention for Protection and National Development,” the sessions will hold from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Conference Hall B of the ministry’s headquarters in Area 11, Garki, Abuja.
The spiritual programme will span three Mondays—June 16, June 23, and June 30.
