The Nigerian Army has dismissed rumours circulating on social media about an ongoing recruitment exercise for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) or Short Service Commission (SSC). In a statement released Friday night, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, clarified that a fake online advertisement claiming the availability of the “Nigerian Army DSSC/SSC Application Form 2025” is completely false and misleading. She emphasized that the Nigerian Army has not initiated any recruitment or commissioning process for DSSC or SSC in 2025, and urged the public to disregard the fraudulent publication, which did not originate from the Army. “Whenever such recruitment exercises are scheduled to begin, the public will be duly informed through official channels with adequate publicity. “The Nigerian Army warns all to be cautious and avoid falling prey to fraudsters who exploit such fake information to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals,” it added. According to the statement, anyone with information about such fraudulent activities or individuals should promptly report to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
