The Federal Government has declared Thursday a public holiday in celebration of this year’s Workers’ Day, observed annually on May 1. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. He praised Nigerian workers for their dedication and sacrifices, acknowledging their vital role in the nation’s development both locally and internationally. Tunji-Ojo also emphasized the importance of peace in fostering industrialization and economic progress, urging workers to embrace innovation and enhance productivity. “There is dignity in labor; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation-building. “This administration is fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigner in the country. “While wishing workers a happy celebration, the Honourable Minister urged Nigerians to keep hope alive as the present administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda he has promised,” the statement read.
