The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that he indeed owns a Rolls-Royce and that it was not a gift from anyone.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Friday, Wike was responding to former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who had accused him of corruption and owning a luxury vehicle.
Wike further stated that, unlike Amaechi, he does not come from a poor background, adding that he even drove a Mercedes-Benz while still a student.
“I have a Rolls-Royce; nobody gave it to me; I bought it for myself. I didn’t come from the same background as Rotimi Amaechi. As a student, I was using a Mercedes-Benz. My father was the manager of so many companies. I come from a rich background but not too rich like the Dangotes.
