
The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, on Tuesday inaugurated a School Protection Squad to enhance security in schools across Delta State.
Represented by AIG Salman Dogo of Zone 5, Egbetokun described the initiative as a significant step toward a safer and more secure future for the community’s children.
“Today, we mark the official launching of the Safe Schools Initiative and the inauguration of the Delta State Police Command School Protection Squad (SPS).
“This is a comprehensive, community-based strategy designed to protect our schools, empower our students and build trust between law enforcement, educators, and families.
“We celebrate the formal inauguration of the School Protection Squad, a dedicated team of officers specially trained and equipped to safeguard our learning institutions and respond swiftly to any threat that may arise.
“Let me reiterate that this initiative was borne out of the Inspector General of Police’s commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of our students and educational institutions,” he said.
