In a remarkable display of recognition and appreciation, the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF), the apex media body of the Ijaw nation, has honoured renowned philanthropist and community leader, Chief Benjamin Ekeremor, for his exceptional humanitarian contributions and unwavering dedication to the upliftment of the Ijaw people and the broader Niger Delta region. Chief Ekeremor, a man of profound vision, generosity, and compassion, has over the years distinguished himself as a committed advocate for peace, education, and socio-economic development. Through his numerous initiatives, especially in youth empowerment, education, and community infrastructure, he has inspired hope and transformation across many communities. The prestigious Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Chief Ekeremor on Friday during the inter-house sports competition of Benja Light Academy, held at Okosuama community in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Delta State. The award was presented by the National President of IPF, Comrade Ozobo Austin, who described Chief Ekeremor as “a rare gem and a beacon of light in the Ijaw nation.” The president of IPF ,Comr. Ozobo while speaking said " Chief Benjamin Ekeremor is not just a philanthropist — he is a living legend whose heart beats for his people. His consistent and impactful efforts in education, youth development, and humanitarian services have made lasting impressions in the Niger Delta. He has demonstrated true leadership, uncommon generosity, and genuine love for humanity. Today’s recognition is only a token compared to what he truly deserves. We celebrate a man who gives without expecting anything in return, a man who has continued to sow seeds of greatness in the lives of many.” In response, Chief Benjamin Ekeremor expressed deep gratitude to the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum, noting that the award means more to him than words can describe. He said: “I am truly humbled and honoured by this recognition. I never set out seeking applause; I only wanted to serve my people and do what I believe is right. This award means a great deal to me because it comes from my own people — the Ijaw nation, whom I hold so dearly. It is a reminder that no act of kindness goes unnoticed. I dedicate this award to every young person out there who believes in a better Niger Delta. Let’s continue to build, serve, and uplift one another. I also commend the IPF for their tireless work in telling our stories and preserving the voice of our people.” The IPF President was flanked by key members of the forum including Mr. Oyinbi Onduku (Vice President), Mr. Tare Magei (Secretary), Dr. Perez Bibakefie (Assistant Secretary), Pastor Arex Akemotubo, Mr. Tam Okumbiri, Mr. Opukeme Cletus, Mr. Preye Ekpegha, Mr. Tamaradoubra Benjamin, among others, who all commended Chief Ekeremor's legacy and joined in the celebration. This honour further cements Chief Benjamin Ekeremor’s place as a torchbearer of hope, a tireless servant of the people, and a true son of the Niger Delta whose impact will be felt for generations to come.
