Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday described the damage to Iran’s nuclear facilities from the 12-day conflict with Israel as “serious,” as the country begins evaluating the aftermath of the war.
“A thorough assessment is being conducted by experts from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran,” he said during an interview with state television.
He added that “the issue of seeking reparations has now become a key part of our diplomatic agenda.”
“These damages are significant, and both technical evaluations and political deliberations are ongoing,” Araghchi noted.
Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that American airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear sites, carried out in support of Israel, “obliterated” the facilities.
