The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced a temporary suspension of the Warri-Itakpe train service.
This was revealed in a statement posted on Thursday by the corporation’s Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, via his X account.
The suspension, which will last for 72 hours, is due to a technical engine failure that occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2025.
“In view of the situation, the NRC has suspended operations on the Warri-Itakpe route for 72 hours. This pause will allow our technical team to conduct a full audit, resolve all identified issues, and restore safe and reliable service,” the statement signed by Henrietta Eregare, NRC’s public relations, reads in part.
