The Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Julius Takeme, alongside the Delta State Commissioner for Housing and Chairman of the Burial Venue Committee, Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, conducted an inspection on Friday at the burial site of the late elder statesman, Chief Pa Edwin Clark, in Akiagbodo. The inspection aimed to evaluate the preparedness of key facilities and ensure that all arrangements for a dignified and orderly ceremony are progressing smoothly. Both officials expressed satisfaction with the level of work done, praising the dedication of the organising committee and on-site workers. Facilities inspected included the main burial arena, the church designated for the funeral rites, and the reserved parking area for dignitaries. Canopies were being mounted, chairs arranged, and roadways graded to facilitate access. Dr. Takeme commended the coordination and dedication of everyone involved in the preparations, assuring that logistics would be concluded in time to honour Chief Pa Edwin Clark’s legacy. With the community, local government, and planning committee working in unison, preparations are in full swing to receive dignitaries and mourners from across the country for the final farewell of the revered national figure.
