Lightning killed a young herder and 12 cows in Matuak Giwa, Bondon District, Moro’a Chiefdom, Kaura LGA, Kaduna State. The Village Head of Matuak Giwa, Simon Ayuba, confirmed the incident on Monday. According to Ayuba, the herder was seeking shelter from the rain with his cattle when the lightning struck, killing them instantly. “The herder, along with 12 cows, died on the spot. It was a tragic occurrence that has left the community in shock,” Ayuba said. The Ardo of Bondon District, Tanko Isiyaka, also confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased herder was from Bauchi State. Deeply saddened, Tanko urged prayers and support for the grieving family. The victim was buried according to Islamic rites, leaving behind loved ones grappling with the sudden and tragic loss.
