The Nigeria Police Force has debunked a viral “wanted” poster circulating on social media about Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo. The poster, which claimed the actress was declared wanted by the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit, was dismissed as false, misleading, and unauthorised. In a statement shared via its official Facebook page, the NPF clarified that the notice did not originate from the Force and was never published on any of its platforms. The post, tagged “FAKE NEWS ALERT,” urged the public to disregard the fabricated notice and stop circulating it. The police further cautioned Nigerians to always verify information only through official communication channels of the NPF to avoid being misled by fake news.
