In a world where luxury is glamorized and instant gratification is mistaken for success, it’s easy to fall into the trap of short-term pleasure at the cost of long-term peace. But a sobering reminder has been shared to young women everywhere: not everything that shines is gold, and not every gift is free. “Those older men who give you money and gifts are not doing it for free. Many times, their gifts come with pain, sickness, bad luck, and a broken future.” The message is clear. Many of these so-called “sponsors” offer flashy gifts and financial support but what’s often hidden is the emotional, physical, and spiritual cost that comes with it. From toxic relationships to lifelong regrets, these choices can leave deep scars. “Don’t run after these ‘sponsors.’ Some of them will waste your time, use your body, and leave you with nothing.” Instead, the advice encourages young women to value genuine love, partnership, and growth, even if it means starting small. “Choose that young man who loves you and wants to build a life with you. He may not have much now, but with time, you both can grow together.” The danger of trading values for material things is real. In some cases, it has cost lives. “Some girls got HIV just because they wanted an iPhone 14. Now, we already have iPhone 16. Was it worth it?” This haunting question echoes louder than any luxury brand ever could. What seemed like a gain in the moment has become a source of regret as time moves on—and technology, beauty, and people evolve and forget. This isn’t about judgment. It’s about self-respect, foresight, and self-preservation. It’s about asking: *Will this decision empower me tomorrow, or will it destroy me quietly over time? To every young woman reading this: Your future matters. Your health matters. Your peace matters. Don’t let anyone trade your worth for something they can easily discard tomorrow.
