The Naira appreciated yesterday to ₦1,555 per dollar in the parallel market, up from ₦1,560 per dollar recorded last weekend. Similarly, the local currency strengthened in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), trading at ₦1,533.8 per dollar. According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the official exchange rate improved from ₦1,535.5 to ₦1,533.8 per dollar, reflecting a ₦1.7 gain for the naira. As a result, the gap between the parallel market and NFEM rates narrowed to ₦21.2 per dollar, compared to ₦24.5 per dollar last Friday.
