Personnel of the Nigerian Navy, attached to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Escravos, raided Oteghele community in Obodo Omadinho, Warri South West LGA, Delta State, on Friday night. During the operation, the Navy uncovered and dismantled two illegal refining sites. FOB Escravos Commanding Officer, Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, who led the raid, revealed that the sites contained approximately 5,500 litres of stolen crude oil and 2,000 litres of illegally refined AGO. The products were stored in one oven, nine pits, and 28 polythene sacks. Okoloagu emphasized that the operation, part of Operation Delta Sanity II, was based on credible intelligence and aimed at combating crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other economic sabotage to enhance Nigeria’s crude oil production. Two weeks earlier, FOB Escravos operatives dismantled three illegal refining sites in Obodo, Omadinho community.
