In the central region, morning thunderstorms and rain are forecast for areas such as Niger, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with sunny intervals and cloud patches in other parts. Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are likely over parts of Plateau, FCT, Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Niger States. On Tuesday, much of the northern region will see sunny skies with cloud patches, alongside morning scattered thunderstorms with heavy rain over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Sokoto, Jigawa, Bauchi, and Kaduna States. Afternoon and evening periods will likely bring thunderstorms with light rain to Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Borno, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, and Bauchi States. In the central region, morning thunderstorms with light rain are forecast over parts of FCT, Niger, Kogi, and Benue States, followed by thunderstorms later in the day over Nasarawa, FCT, Benue, Kogi, and Plateau States. The southern region will see cloudy skies with morning rain in parts of Akwa Ibom and Cross River, and afternoon or evening thunderstorms with light rain across the area. By Wednesday, morning thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Zamfara, Kebbi, Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Gombe, Bauchi, and Sokoto States in the north. Thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected in the afternoon and evening over Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Jigawa, Taraba, and Adamawa States. In the central region, cloudy skies are expected in the morning, with thunderstorms and moderate rain across the region later in the day. Across the southern region, light rain is expected throughout the day. NiMet also cautioned that strong winds could precede rain in some areas, advising the public to secure loose items to prevent them from becoming hazards. Residents were urged to avoid driving in heavy rain, disconnect electrical appliances during storms, and stay clear of tall trees to avoid injury from falling branches. Airline operators were advised to obtain location-specific weather reports from NiMet for safe flight planning.
