Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has revealed how she narrowly avoided a dangerous accident after part of the POP ceiling in her Lekki residence collapsed unexpectedly. The actress, who shared a video of the incident on her Instagram page on Tuesday, described the experience as shocking and frightening. According to her, the ceiling crashed just a few feet away from her recently purchased car, which was parked close to the affected area. Visibly shaken in the video, Nkechi lamented: “Come to Lekki, they said. Thank God it didn’t fall inside the house and my new car wasn’t parked there. What would I have said? It’s well with una Lekki developers.” She further expressed disbelief that such a thing could happen in her home, adding that it was the first time she had ever witnessed something of that nature. The incident has since sparked reactions from fans and followers, with many sympathizing with her while others raised concerns about the quality of buildings in parts of Lekki, Lagos. Lekki, a highbrow area of Lagos known for luxury real estate, has in recent years come under public criticism over the frequent reports of building collapses, poor finishing, and substandard construction work despite the high cost of properties in the area. While Nkechi Blessing escaped without injury, she emphasized her gratitude to God for protecting her life and property, stressing that the outcome could have been worse if anyone had been in the exact spot where the ceiling came down. The actress, known for her bold personality both on and off screen, has continued to receive messages of relief from fans who urged her to remain cautious and consider carrying out structural checks on her home to avoid a repeat of the incident.
