A North-East-based organisation, Bring Back Our Goodluck, has formally apologised to former President Goodluck Jonathan over previous accusations linking him to the sponsorship of Boko Haram.
Speaking at a press conference in Maiduguri, the group’s National President, Grema Kyari, admitted that they had been misled by the utterances of a former U.S. President and certain desperate Nigerian politicians. He described the allegations as false, malicious, and politically engineered to unseat Jonathan in the 2015 elections.
Kyari, who hails from insurgency-ravaged Borno State, said the group now acknowledges Jonathan as “a leader of integrity, compassion, and national vision,” praising him as a democrat who consistently placed national interest above personal ambition.
